Conroy named as Summer Ink’s new Executive Director

The Board of Directors of Summer Ink is pleased to announce that Rosamund T. Conroy has been named as their new Executive Director.  Rosamund will lead Summer Ink’s continued efforts to transform the literacy skills of young people through its innovative and exciting adventure-based writing camps.

Rosamund is a Massachusetts native who lived overseas for more than a decade. She has an academic background in renewable energy research and graduated from the University of Cambridge, UK with a doctorate in environment sociology. During her time in academia and beyond, she has mentored and worked with young people from many different backgrounds and she is excited to be able to build on this experience by leading Summer Ink. Rosamund is also a seasoned leader in the non-profit sector and she comes to Summer Ink from a large community boating organization in Hingham, MA.

Board President Arthur Unobskey states, “Summer Ink is thrilled to have Rosamund take leadership of our organization. She has skills and experience that will deepen our campers’ engagement in powerful experiences that build transformative writing skills. Her warmth and assertiveness will enable us to engage both current and new campers, families and supporters throughout the Boston area. I look forward to all of you having the opportunity to meet her.”

Rosamund succeeds long-time Executive Director Vicki Krupp, who has ably lead Summer Ink for the past five years. Unobskey adds, “Vicki has played a huge role in systematizing and growing our approaches to helping a diverse group of campers to find their voices. We’d like to thank her for her leadership and tireless work over the years.”

About her new role, Rosamund says, “I feel very fortunate to be Summer Ink’s new Executive Director. When I first read about the organization and saw what it was doing for both children and educators, I immediately wanted to be a part of it. Writing—and adventures!—are a huge part of my life and I’m so excited to join the Summer Ink community. I’m already looking forward to the summer and to meeting all of the campers, parents and supporters.”

Conroy started this role on December 4th, 2017. For further information about Summer Ink and its programs, please visit: summerink.org. To contact Rosamund directly, please email rconroy@summerink.org.
